Default Jiffy stand question

Been out riding my new-to-me 2009 Road King. It's very windy and I am a little leery of parking the 800# scooter in the wind with only the jiffy stand to hold it up. After looking at the stand, am I correct in assuming that the weight of the bike locks the stand in place (so it won't retract) when it is down.

You are correct. If the wind is strong enough from the side it can blow over though. Has to be strong but it can happen. Trust the jiffy though it's a good set up.

Yes the stand locks in the down position with the weight on it

When I got my first Harley, I was skeptical about the stand, but I've come to completely trust it to keep my ride upright. Slight incline, or decline... I put her in first gear as an extra precaution, but the stand works great!

Well you could always do the obvious if possible and park facing into the wind.

Kinda like fishing in the you cast into and let it blow you line where you want it to go.

The stand locks solidly in place. I still check it most of the time when I park. If you put the stand down, and then slide the bike forward a bit, you'll see how the stand locks.

The only problem I ever had was it sinking on the neighbor's marshy driveway once. No damage, but a pain to lift up. Installed one of the Brukus KickShoe's a week or so ago. Went to the neighbor's house and put the stand down where I sank before. Made all the difference in the world having the KickShoe on.

If you look closely, you will see a tab that slides into a slotted guide when the bike leans over on to the stand.
