Default new wheels + new tires & d-beads = vibration! WTF!?

OK, so I swapped-out my OEM wheels thru a chromer (www.chromethathog.com), bought new Dunlop American Elites, and opted to go with Dynabeads. I installed new bearings & mounted the tires myself with tire irons.....first time ever doing this myself. Now I'm noticing front wheel vibration - mostly on the highway at ~70mph. What the hell did I do wrong? Bad tire? Mounted wrong? Where do I go from here? Ugh!!!

Right to a qualified shop! lol Seriously, it probably needs to be balanced correctly.

Never have had an issue with Dyna beads vibrating. Hmmm. That is a tough one. Mine are smooth as silk.

did you put the right amount of beads in each wheel, that makes a large difference. Need 2 oz in front and rear tires

Yep - 2oz of beads in each wheel. I know an independent with his own shop....maybe I'll give him a call. Not sure whether he does/knows wheel balancing. Are bike wheels balanced "static" or do they spin them up like they do car wheels/tires.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there's a mark on tires and this mark indicates how the tire is to be mounted relative to the valve stem. Is this right? I just put the tires on - with the direction of rotation correct, but didn't pay any attention to the position of any mark relative to the valve stem. Could this be it?

This sucks!

On mine, the yellow dots are right below the valve stems.

Edit to clarify--If the valve stem is at the bottom-the dot is below it.

I've been running the Dyna beads and E3's for 12,000 miles and I get a vibration out of the front wheel at 75 to 80 mph. It does not happen all the time though. I used an Indy to mount the front tire and maybe there is some tire lube in the tire collecting the beads throwing the balance off at times. That's my theory anyway.

Might want to break the bead on the front and rotate the mark to line up with the valve stem. Should take care of it. I have never had the need to balance any of my bike tires as of yet. I have been riding for 30+ years. Well now watch after that statement, my next change might get interesting.

For what it's worth, my indy doesn't like the dyna beads at all, I would line up the dot with the valve steam and rebalance the ole fashion way and see what happens, did you also have a bearing installer to correctly intall the bearings.

I had the dyna beads in my rear tire and ended up taking them out and getting it balanced the old fashioned way....much better now. However I do still have the beads in the front tire and it seems to be fine, I think maybe my back rim is out a bit, ended up having to put 5 oz of wieghts on it, probally should have taken the tire off again and re-mounting it
