Default winter storage

just wondered what the big deal is with heated storage. how many store there bikes in heated garages and what is necessary to "winterize" my street glide? I can store it either in my attached garage or in a heated warehouse. what problems could i expect if i choose to keep it in cold storage? (attached garage)

I've always stored mine in a non-heated, attached garage. No big deal, no problems.

All I do is clean, polish, wax, fill the tank, add Stabil, attach battery tender and cover. I keep my bike on a sheet of plywood, just to keep the tires off the cement floor. Some will put theirs on a lift, with the safety engaged, to keep the bike off the tires.

There is also the oil issue, but I won't touch that. There's plenty of threads discussing oil and storage, you can find them by doing a search.

In cold storage you have to deal with mosture, so keep that chrome polished or you can develop rust. And covering your bike is not the answer, you can trap moisture inbetween, and can make matters worse.

What is winter storage? It's 80 degrees today in Los Angeles and I'm riding to San Diego tomorrow. Probably in just a T-shirt.
sorry...
