Not long after I bought my FLHX I found a rubber thing laying on the garage floor -- obviously went to something but I was stumped. So I threw it on the workbench and forgot about it.

About this same time my left saddlebag started vibrating and rattling like crazy. I tried taking it off, putting it on, adjusting the mounts, etc. All to no avail.

And when I finally looked at the bottom of the bag, and saw ONE rubber mounting pad and one missing, I said to my genius self, "Oh."

Rubber pad reinstalled. Problem solved.

I tighten my saddle-bags down with allen bolts.
I don't trust the druise clips.

I have had the bag off several times since and still tight. Maybe this lil info may help.
I tried this and problem has been solved. No more bag jumping all over. Thanks to all who replied. Jim

right, that is the correct way to adjust the front saddlebag brackets. This way when you put the pins in they wont bend the ends off..

Just ditch the passenger strap altogeather, and I also put in 5/16 " hex head bolts with a fiber lock nut just snug enough to rotate a little. Keeps your bags from comming off accidently or someone wanting a set of bags.
