So when it went past 120 and became vertical pointing straight down, I assumed it was about 156mph or about 30% faster - counted the lines on the gauge.
Things happen pretty fast at that speed too - suspension seems really funky - like slow mo - and it wasn't too bad with the 15" windshield (vent closed).
The drag of the sidecar will hold the unit back and it is worse with a stiff head wind. I know a few people running side hacks here and they have the same issue.
AFAIK, only a bigger motor and a good tune will improve things. But you probably don't want to be going much over 90 with a side hack so look at it as an investment in passing insurance.

Wow 156MPH on an Ultra ????[sm=confused06.gif] What do you have for Engine mods? Are you sure you don't mean kilometers per hour? Dude I really hate to burst your bubble but it would take an awful lot of engine work for just about any Harley Davidson to do over 150MPH, let aloan a Bagger. I think the VRods top speed is only around 140MPH.
Dude you might want to get your Speedo checked out.
With the higher ratio of the overdrive sixth, he may have to get that motor spinning higher before he drops it into top gear. Have him rap fifth gear up to atleast 5,000 rpm before going into overdrive and then see what his sixth speed will carry. I used to think that my bikes top speed was about 105, even with all the motor work I've done...then I tried it again while rapping fourth gear up to about 5500 rpm before hitting fifth gear...I shut it down at 115 because the front end was getting scary light.
I have a buddy that ownes a cvo electraglide classic motor built by carls speed shop 117" high comprssion very strong bike on the top end over 130hp on the dyno and it tops out in the low 140's it would take a lot more to get it over 150 that would be very hard to do and very scarry to ride.
