I knew my code when I first got the bike. but having never had the need to use it in the 3 years of ownership and now reading this post I realise I need to carry it with me when I ride, I use a different wallet when I ride so I will put it in there.

This past Sunday I unlocked a saddlebag to get my camera out, and got distracted while putting it back, and forgot to relock the bag. Problem is, I had left my key in the lock.

I discovered this about an hour later when I stopped for gas.

After the initial shock, I was able to remember where I had saved my PIN and find the procedure to start the bike using the bypass code, which I have continued to do for the last 4 days.

Today I am heading back to where I lost my keys. They were turned in to the local PD.

I keep the little card in my wallet that explains the procedure. It is in the owners manual.
