I have the PCIII on my 01 and last year it went bad (after 4 years) and took the ECM fuse out also. Talked with company and they sold me another at reduced price after telling me it was fried and re-installed same map and a year later all is good.

PCV is brand new. I will call the vendor today. I have heard of the PC3's going bad, but not the PCV. Always a first though.

Purchased the whole stage one kit, including the PCV, from Fuel Moto. I'm just pi$$ed that I am now going to have to fork out a couple of hundred bucks to the dealer for diagnosing this.

Yep, they are sending me a new unit, no questions asked. I'll return this one so that they can inspect it.

Hello,
I have a 2004 Harley Davidson Road King Classic. I am running a stage 1 air
cleaner, Reinhart true duals and a PowercommanderIII USB. I am hearing
several people claim that the use of the power commander voids my warranty, and that I can expect the powercommander to cause my ECU to fail. I don't buy it, but I would like to hear your take on this situation. I have used power commanders on sportbikes, and never had a problem. Thank you for your
help in this matter,

Sascha Krumnow

Sascha,

This is absolutely not true. This is usually a scare tactic used to get you
to buy something else. The Power Commander cannot void your warranty, unless it damages the bike and the manufacturer can prove it. There are laws
against this. The Power Commander is incapable of damaging the bike as it sends no current to the bike/ECM. All it does is intercept the injector pulse width signal (a ground) and fire the injectors (by grounding them). It is basically a really fast, accurate ground. It does not generate current.
If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them, or feel free to
call our tech line at 800-992-4993.

Dealer was very cool, said they see a lot of bikes with Power Commanders and are usually very reliable. Charged me a very small amount to diagnose the problem. FM sending me a new unit.

Hope you get it worked out. My PCV has been on mine for about 4 months and working ok. I have since added cams and dynoed and so far it still works o.k. Good luck!

I guess the PCV gathering all that extra information was causing information overload. It worked for me.....
Wow, thanks for this info. I was having the exact same problem on my 2010 FLHTCU this past week. I have just gone in and turned off all the functions. Unfortunately it is cold and pouring outside here today. Looks like I won't get out for a day or two. Keeping my fingers crossed...
