Just got a '14 Street Glide. Want to put after market Bassani B4 exhaust on with a PCV and auto tune kit from Dynojet. Wondering if it would be better to go with the Power Vision and the associated autotune kit? Also, does anyone know when either the PCV or Power Vision will be out with the maps for the '14 touring bikes?
the way it stands right now is that neither one will work yet. The PV will be available soon, have no idea when the PCV or if it will be modified to fit the new ecm. The FM website says the PCV available soon. FM says PV possibly this week. I would go with the Power Vision as you can use the stock O2's and do autotune basic without the autotune kit. If you choose to use the broadband it will work with the PV also in autotune pro mode. If you decide to do cams then you may want to add the broadband. For stage one really not necessary. It will do good either way.
I don't think Power Commander will ever be available for '14s?? Fuelmoto mini will work I hear but I'd go with Power vision either way. It is a real flash tuner.
Power vision .
Will already work with 2014 it does use the can bus cable
new maps and updates for the firm ware on the way
The PV will physically plug in but it will not work until the firmware is updated. It will give error when you plug it in. I would wait for the PV firmware update.
According to the FM site the PCV will work when changes made or something like that.
I would choose the PV over the PCV if they both worked.
Buy the Power Vision. Im not a fan of piggy back devices they are another thing to go wrong on the bike. Flash the ECM and be done with it.
Buy the Power Vision directly from Fuel Moto, they will double your warranty and lifetime MAP support. Call and talk to Jamie of one of the guys at FM, teell them what your tryin gto achieve and they can make some great recommendations. IMO you dont need the auto tune for the PV to get a Stage 1 or 2 bike running great!

I wonder how many examples there are, just on this forum alone, to support your statement? Im going on 12k miles on m PC-V with autotune and haven't had a single problem yet. I know what I did have a problem with though....my battery. Not a fan of those either?

Thanks all for the advice. Leaning more towards the PV-2. Another question: Having my bike registered in CA and with the new "laws" being made, will I run into trouble with an aftermarket pipe and tuned with using the PV-2?

Run a search on it over the years there have been a lot of water problems with PCV wet and not working, loose connections and defective units, bike wont start or slow to start and by d/c the PC it is running again. Especially with the Softails due to wear they had to mount the unit it may get wet behind the fender, some riders installing them in a plastic bag to try water proof..
Im not bashing the Power Commander, Ive used them with good results on a few of our friends bikes. On my Fatboy I had close to 40,000 with no problem and the present owner is still going. But its adding on another device , extra connections, it increases the chance of something else to develop problems and it tunes by tricking the ECM instead of reprogramming the ECM. Bottom line is a piggy back tuner is a add on band aid way to achieve the same results as just having the correct MAP in the ECM from the start. The biggest advantage is they are less $ but with the softwear and firmwear improvements in the Power Vision it is easier to use, takes 5 min to flash a new MAP, easier to tune using the data logging you dont even need a computer to tune with the Power Vision.
