Default Squeeling rear brakes

Any idea why my buddies FLHX 2002 Street Glides rear brakes have always squeeled? Started again after the 3rd new set of pads. He tried stock and after market not sure what kind. Any suggestions would help

normally squeaky brakes is caused by contaminated brake pads...is it possible you are getting anything on the pads,,i.e., oil, grease, wd40, pledge, any kind of silicone or brake fluid,, etc.??? barring that maybe there is something wrong with the disc..but I don't see it...if the caliper is sticking it can cause the pads to over heat and glaze, that can cause squeaky brakes, but you should notice the smell, and the sensation of loss of power...also how does the disc look???is it discolored (purple)???

I think I would start with a new rotor and pads after checking the caliper.

Service the calipers.
Lyndall pads are less likely to squeal.
Use brake pad paste on the backsides of the pads and clean and sand the rotor.

Worked for me.

Use some Permitex brake squeal on the back sides of each pad. Follow the directions it will fix the squeal !!

Mine did the same thing. It is not the brake material that is squeaking. It is the metal backing of the pad that is vibrating and creating a high frequency noise. I took my pads off and applied some "disc brake quiet" let it dry and re-installed. Fixed my problem completely.

Squealing can also be caused by rotors that develop a glaze of extra hard material generally caused by a lot of stop and go traffic. The rotors getting hot causing the glaze.

Could be caused by cross- contamination from the flux capacitor in the time machine that transported it from 2006 back to 2002.

That may be, but usually adjusting the Rendler spindle on the rotofro will solve the problem as well.

I'm voting with Duraglide the Flux Capacitor is most likely your problem!
