I have recently installed a brushed aluminium digital speedo/tach on my 2009 Road King Classic. The range function shows 150 mile on a full tank whereas my original speedo showed 240ish miles and at 3/4 full it will show 100 miles. According to the instructions the unit should learn my riding patterns but after several fill ups it seems my unit is a slow learner.
Also the misting up of the face is far worse than the original. Anybody else had these problems and if so how did you overcome them?
I have the same gas issue with my combination digital speedometer/analog tachometer gauge. It shows around 280km at full instead of the old 340km, and instead of "learning" my range it has remained very pessimistic. So I ignore it and use the original gas gauge on the fuel tank, which is pretty accurate.
Thanks for that. Unit is still under warranty so it looks like I will have to send it back, no point in paying for something that doesn't work properly.
