Bought my 02 Ultra new and now have 85,000 on it. Two times I experienced what many call the Harley dog walk. You do not need to buy a whole frame to fix this they make systems to fix this problem that are MUCH cheaper then swapping the frame and work well. I have the one made by Progressive and bought it off eBay for about $125.
This is the best, cheapest, and least obtrusive set up for the 08 and older bikes. I have one on my bike and it greatly improved cornering, lane changes and handling in general, especially on hard cross winds.
My 07 is the last Harley I plan to ever own. I like the frame/engine/transmission set up just as it is.
Thanks guys so much. This helps me a lot. One last question, what drags on the touring frames when going at a brisk pace. I've ridden other softails and the floorboards drag. But on my Deuce, the tab on the kickstand and the V&H Propipe drags.

On the left side, usually the kickstand hits first but get it far enough over then the footboard back bracket will hit, followed by the footboard itself. You can also whack the mufflers coming out of a parking lot and cutting the corner too tight and hitting the curb. Going over high points on the road can get a hit on the rear frame cross member.
I don't know about the recent bikes, but on my old Glide I can adjust the foot boards to three different heights. I have them on the middle setting, which I find comfortable. Riding 2-up I get an ear bashing if I get too close to touching either of them down!
I never had a problem with my 08 frame and nothing ever dragged on my bikes, nor should it. If your dragging floorboards your a fraction of an inch of a nightmare. If that bracket ever digs in, your gone. Your either over weight, going to fast on the curves, bike to low or all or some of the above if your throwing sparks. That's just my 2c.
i ride a pretty stock 01 Eg classic..i have never been on a newer bike with the improved frame to compare it to,but i have been on just about every other sport and touring bike.i have no complaints with my bike or the handling..
i have never drug anything on my 01EG unless im making a tight turn going too fast in a parking lot..i have a 72 electra-glide that has half the floorboard bottom scraped off..it would scrape just turning at an intersection..never thought much of it,never had a problem..if you scrape regularly your leaning too far and should be on a sportbike
