That said, I went from a VERY nice DYNA( 2005 generation) to this new 2011 Streetglide. This is TWICE the bike. With the 103 powerpack and cruise, and you have the basis for a bike that can tour the world, if wanted.

I am absolutely sold on this 2011 model.

I'll respectfully disagree.

The bike looks good, sounds good, cruises nice...no doubt. But when I get where I'm going, I can rip it up in the corners right up to the point that the shallow lean angle becomes a limitation. Harley did an impressive job redesigning the frame to serve many purposes.

My 02 will drive by either 09 Street Glide in our riding group on the straight or the twisties with ease. New is nice but so is properly equiped.

So the lean angle is lacking on the touring bikes? I have a ST Deuce and my buddy has a ST Standard, we love how fast we can go in the mtns.

As a side note, if you ever want to sell the Train you have... msg me.. LOL It is awsome..

The 'Train's going to the grave with me, but thanks.

The lean angle's lacking on Harleys. On a stock FLHTK, it's 33* right/31* left. It's less than that on the lowered Street Glides. You can ride the **** out of these bikes up until you run out of cornering room.

Probably will just stay with the Deuce. Get a windshild and throw over luggage for those long trips... Just can't give up my cornering. Not being 3 hours from the Gap!

Pardon me for asking but...... If you run out of cornering room didn't you enter the turn in wrong position and at the wrong speed?

True baggers aren't meant to drag boards but they obviously can. I still as of yet have not found the elusive bagger wiggle, waggle, wobble whatever you want to call it out here we have some truly great mountain roads.

Long sweepers shouldn't be a problem either with the right entry point.

I'm still trying to figure out 2 things now.

1. The older frame is better than the new one?

2. Baggers are MADE for cornering?

.....wow

The HD touring frame is an excellent handling platform when set up properly. If some want to ride it a little faster and explore the upper limits of cornering what difference does that make to other riders that would rather tour at a more leisurely pace? Some guys leave em stock, some hot rod the motor, some lower them, some put loud sound systems in them, some put on high performance suspensions, some go chrome, some go black, it's all good!!!!

people were riding all over the world with the "old" style frames long before the new style frame came out in 09. i have an 08 and it rides fine, but i don't try to ride it like a crotch rocket either. they're touring bikes, you wouldn't expect a greyhound bus to handle like a corvette would you? i see nothing lacking in my frame at all, although everyone who has the new framed bikes seem to think they work better. i'm very happy to have what i got, and don't buy into the newest/greatest thing to come along. i do disagree with northside about the throttle by wire system not working well. mine works extremely crisp and even better since the new motor build, 103" and during the dyno work the tbw was dialed in properly and there is zero lag. it's instantaneous.
