Default Lower legs

Been looking at HD's 18" rims, they list as fitment for '09 and up......anybody know what the mount diff is from '08 to '09?.....wondering if there is a way to adapt these rims to an '08, such as swappin legs, or tree......

I dont know what your trying to do ,but I know for a fact that 08 legs fit and work on a 10 w/o abs . That may be their way of stopping us from changing them. I think the front will work but not the rear. Good luck

thanks for the replies -- - buggy, - was tryin to fig out if and how I might be able to use one of the 18" rims HD uses, and what the fitment issue is, if any. i.e. would they simply bolt on to the legs of my '08, or would I need to swap out the legs. sounds like it may be a straight swap over tho. Thought my OP was pretty clear, but, so long as we are on same page.....

it has nothing to do with the legs, H-D's lower legs are the same from like 94-present, abs or not. The difference is in the bearings, axle and spacers. If you want to use a front wheel intended for a 08 or newer you will have to get a 08 or newer anxle and spacers. I had put a 18" rim off an '10 SG on my 07 road king. not a problem with the correct axle. some others tried changing the bearings out to the 07 and earlier style so they could keep there axle and spacers but the offset is different and they wound up with bearing failure.

Thanks man...that makes perfect sense....If I want the rim, I simply gotta get the axle, bearings and spacers...problem solved
