Power Commander programming/fuel mileage
I have a 2006 Roadking custom. It is stock with an aftermarket air cleaner and True dual fishtail straight pipes with baffles installed. I am currently running the M807-220 programming. It consists of Rhinehardt True Duals, screamin eagle air filter and stock ECM. My question is I only get 30 miles to the gallon no matter how I drive the bike. If I go with the stock programming will I get better fuel mileage? Not trying to have a hotrod but at $4.00 a gallon I want to get the most mileage I can get.
Thanks
Jeff.
Thanks
Jeff.
I saw a drop in mileage when I installed my PCV on my Nightrain. 96" tw6-6 cams, Heavy Breather Big Radius with BCT baffles. It ran great. Brought to my tuner to have it dynoed. He tweaked it and now my mileage is back up to where it was when it was stock. But, now it pulls much harder.
You are running a PCIII. You will get better mileage by using the stock ECM. Performance may suffer though. Right now, at $4/galon, at 30 mpg, it will cost you $66 to drive 500 miles. Bypassing the PCIII, assuming 40 mpg, it will cost you $50 to drive 500 miles. So there you go, is it worth $16 over 500 miles, or $32 over 1000 miles?
