Stock 09 got 42 mpg, FM stage one now gets 36. I'm going to add a switch and run the mpg map as well. The biggest factor is how heavy your right hand is. Check you spark plugs. They should be very light in color.
I'm not running a cam. Just stock 103. I am running pure city mileage. Stop and go. Did not run any highway. With that, I figured i'd get low, but around 35 - 38, not 31. I guess my question is, should I worry? not a huge wrench here, and its my first harley. So excuse the ignorance. I think I'll give the tech that tuned it a call and see what he has to say about it running such bad MPG. Hoping to put some highway miles on it and see what i'm running there. But even city miles, 31 seems low.
I have found it is nearly impossible to get the same amount of fuel in the tank of these new bikes to do an accurate mileage check. It is incredibly frustrating...I think the only way to do it would be over several tanks and do an average MPG.

I agree with whoever said get a dyno tune. Something isn't right. Unless you're runnin 85-90 you should be kockin on 40's door. On a 500 mi trip last week i got 30 on the first half cruise set on 85. 37.5 on the way home cruise set on 75. Proof that your right hand makes a huge difference. 06 ultra 88ci 203 cams rinehart TDs 84 hp 92 tq. I ride pretty regular with stock 103 ultras and they average 40mpg.
31mpg in town..is prob not to far off....especially if you like hearing your new pipes But if your on the highway and refrain from rollin the throttle back and passing people all the time that is way low!
