Do I really have to drain the tranny to change the clutch cable? I recently changed all the fluids so I hate to waste whats in there. Service manual says to drain it, but I know that sometimes it suggests things that aren't really necessary.

Put the front and rear wheels on 2x4's and lean it on the jiffy stand. You will lose a little fluid but not much. I had to add a little to bring it up to full when I did mine this way.

Default wild 1 wo577B

I went to the WO577B 12.5" bars and bought a complete cable kit , it was a little expensive but worth every penny, and what I like is the fact the bars are well over my fairing mounted mirrors and when some is behind me all I have to do is drop my elbows and inch or two to block ou t their headlights!!go onto wild 1 website and do some reading, because another. Thing. you'll need is a new top bar clamp and bushing other wise your bars will end up in your lap ...my bike is actually one of the customers rides. Its under 2007 flhx with blacked out series wo577b...I do believe it cost me a little under a 800 for everything.....the bars alone were 219.00...and i think HD specialties is where I got my cables from...
I'm 5`10" with a 30" inseam and they are perfect both comfort and handling.....IMHO

+6" for the clutch cable will work also, and is easier to find, and cheaper. You'll need to straighten the rigid part of the upper brake line to make it work.
Me personally I didn't like the cables re-routed. I went with +6 on everything, Magnum Black Pearls. They look great, the brake line I was able to straighten and it looks fine. The wires were fine, just had to unhook the plugs from the bracket and re-hook them in a different spot.

I have a 10 street glide. ran the wires inside. It does take time and care to run the TBW wires. I routed the stock clutch cable at the base of the handlebar to gain the extra inches. I see my gloves in the bottom third of the mirror so did not have to mod them.
I also have no problem with using the stock mirrors but I am 6'1". A shorter rider may have trouble. I went with the 4 inch longer clutch cable and also went with the SE throttle that comes with longer wires that eliminate the green plug that gets in the way inside the right bar. This was the one best thing that I have done to my bike. love them. Also went with PM grips at the same time.

This is awesome! There is no way I would even think about trying this myself without this forum. You guys/gals are great and I REALLY appreciate you all taking the time to post replies. I can't wait to get my bars and get started.
