Default Kromewerx +2 sweepers

I think I have read most of the threads on these bars but I still have a few questions so please bare with me.I'm 5ft. 8in. tall,145 lbs., avrg. arm length and from what I've read the bars are a little wider than stock,is this much of an issue and does this put your hands out in the cold past the fairing edge. Also am I correct in only needing the bars ,+4 clutch cable for stock routing, and does wires and TBW need any extending? Also do I need to replace front brake line for longer one for stock routing? From what I remember reading the bars are drilled for internal wiring,is this correct? How many hrs. labor should a HD dealer charge for the install if I supply all the parts? My pride and joy is an 08 streetglide.I'm sorry for the long post just want to get all the facts right before I start,oh and one last thing, I would love to keep and use the stock mirrors, is this possible or would they be useless? Thank you for your patience and your help. GO ALABAMA!!

Hands will be fine, not out beyond the fairing. You only need a 38649-08 HD clutch cable. No other TBW extension or brake line needed. The bars will probably obstruct your mirrors. You can use the Kuryakyn fairing mirrors like rocknrod here on the forum uses with his sweepers or you can put a set of cool AN mirrors atop your stock ones like captsam54 here on the forum did. Can't help on how much your dealer would charge. I've seen dealers say 5 hours for a bar swap, I've seen others say 3, etc. Call and ask is all I can say. Do it yourself and take all day and do it slow by the manual and enjoy it and save some coin.

Look at the post near the top of the page now from JohnnyD about mirrors and handlebars. I reference the link to the photo in that thread.

I have these bars on my Ultra & I have fairing mirrors. My hands are a bit in the way of the mirrors, but they are still protected by the fairing as dawg said. If you are mechanical at all, you can change them yourself, I did. Worse part for me was replacing the clutch cable. I had to remove my right side exhaust to get the trans cover off.

It took me about 4 hours to change the bars on my Road Glide. That was taking my time, reading the service manual, taking a smoke & p break, drinking coffee. Of course 3 hrs and 45 minutes of that was putting the outer fairing back on. My dealer says he charges 1 1/2 hrs.

I just put them on my 2008 RG. I had to pull wires up out from front of fairing so the wires would reach. Brake line was fine. Took a little spin and was impressed. I will have to ride it more to see if I have the angle of the bars correct.

I did not see where you stated what bike you are putting the bars on. On a RG, your hands will be exposed to the wind. Not bad, but more so than stock. Also, I am 5'7" and feel like I could have gone with the regular sweepers and been fine. The +2's work, but my arms are nearly straight out in front of me. I would like the bars to be a little higher or a little lower just to get some angle from the shoulder to the grip.

Here's a couple shots of my current +2 Sweepers. These are powder coated black with +3 steel braided cables/brake lines. These bars moved my hands back 2" and up 2", they made a huge difference over stock. However, I got the itch and now I'm going higher for the appearance (I personally like the look of bagger apes). I just purchased a set of black 13" Cyclesmiths and Barnett Stealth Black cables. The black Sweepers and stainless +3 cables/lines were used for 5 months will be available next month, if interested PM me. Also, if you have a clean set of black (non-cruise) controls compatible for a '07 FLHX to trade, I will send the bars pre-wired (internally) ready to bolt on which will save hundreds on installation labor/time. These bars are notched for fly-by-wire so they will work on pre/post '07 batwing models.
