Default Lower fairings,

I went for a ride today on my RGU and its the first time with temps in the upper 80s almost 90 but i noticed that my butt, crotch was hot like dam hot. I got to thinking about it and i remember a buddy telling me i would want to take the lower fairings off in the summer so i went home and removed them got back out on the road and what a difference!! I didnt think they could stop that much air from getting to you.

I'm interested to see what feedback is received. Thinking of getting a pair myself.

Get the vented ones, open them up when it gets really hot or take them off altogeather, they even sell a quick take off kit. Love mine, I leave them on year round.

Your bike looks better without them, but I've also heard that vented lowers work well. I'll be getting these removeable soft lowers next Fall. Those who have them say they are great.

These also seem to have good reviews, but I like the above version better.

I rode around all last summer with them on and didn't get too hot. As long as I am moving I'm fine.

UPSGUY; do you still have the CAT in your exhaust header pipe? If so, you're generating alot more heat than the pre-2010 bikes. I definitely love my vented lowers & keep them on all year for the wind deflection...keep bugs off the pant legs too...
