As far as the "leather diaper" comment goes, it was handmade in this country, not by a machine in Tai Wan or China.
I was born in Taiwan and am partly Chinese so I take great offense to your comment Sir.

Oh you do that Francis. Still looks like crap to me. So what? You had no problem calling ALL the owners of the Stock HD heat shield a bunch of Ugly shield owners who have no taste, are bland, and like to look like everyone else. Guess what? You were talking to me. I guess you didn't think I'd call you on it. So here I am and there you are.... now it is time to death match!
FWIW, I just watched a tech install a set on Tuesday in about 12 minutes start to finish and I don't know how or what he did differently but he never frowned or broke a sweat.

I'd be willing to bet he didn't do it in 12 min on a 2007 or earlier
after about 2 hours of searching finally found mine on top of the swing arm pivot other than that no problem with install on newer models. as far as looks,I like captain Itch's stuff just fine on some bikes, just don't think they would look too good on my street glide.I had mine painted when I did the inner fairing
LOL... I never though I'd say this, but that's too much red for me! LOL!
For installing the HD mid frame heat deflectors on my 08 Ultra, I first cut down an allen key as short as possible. I was able to reach behind the rear cylinder and tighten the upper bolt from the left side of the bike. Just make sure to install the right side deflector first.
