You are insinuating the walls are too thin after a 107 bore. Please provide data to back up your claim.
I am not insinuating anything, just that S&S builds their cylinders differently and has overbore pistons available. If you want to go 107", go 107". The op asked about 103 and maybe he doesn't know the 107 is a no overbore item, maybe he would not go 107 if he knew that, maybe he would still go 107, but it's his choice and the info is better to have before doing it, not finding out after.

With the availabilty of cheap stock cylinders to bore out the "no overbore" really isn't a big deal.

He has nothing to back up. He "insinuated" nothing. You inferred. Big difference. In my opinion, not so humble, I do believe the stock jugs are too thin after a bore to create 107ci, I wouldn't go past a 103" with them. S&S's "kit" provides a cylinder thick enough to prevent hot spots, again in my not so humble opinion. In my opinion the S&S jugs also provide thicker, more efficient cooling fins, an incredibly important part of an air cooled mill. If your happy with your 107, great. I'll pass thanks.
Bought a set of used 96" Cylinders on eBay, a set of 103" 10:1 Hyper-eutectic Pistons from Kieth Black, Locally machined Cylinders, Cometic 0.030" Head Gaskets, Andrews 26H Cams, SE Clutch Spring, Gaskets, Oil, New Spark Plugs etc. Total cost was just shy of $700. Did the labor myself one Friday evening. Could have used different Cams (used 255's), Different non-Cometic MLS Head Gaskets, not changed the Clutch Spring, and used my exisitng Cylinders (but would have had to wait for the machinist) and I could have kept the cost under $500.
This one makes sense to me...save a few bucks.
If you can afford it, then give Jamie @ Feulmoto a call and see what he thinks.
Overboring a Twincam is something that is needed at about 100,000 miles.
The big deal is Fuel Moto is a great company and has given more to the forum then they have gotten back...Purchase all the parts for the 103" off EBAY or your dealer and when you come to a install or drivabillity issue give the seller a call and see how much they don't help you. Fuel Moto actually cares about thier customers and you cannot put a price on that...That makes them the "god of vtwin"
I am sure it is a great company...and you get kick backs for promoting them...but this thread was 96 to 103....not 107.... it is like someone saying Im am very interested in the 48 sportster and you saying...no don't go with that instead look at this great bagger bike, that is really what you want... these threads are not to oversell someone on things they don't want or not intersted in. I have spoken!

Who in the hell do you think you are? You do not even know me to say I get kick backs for promoting fuel moto. I am a person that believes in great service and passing the name on to other of those rare services that have great service. I was just speaking up because someone was dowining on a great company. I understand what the tread was about and people were giving thier opinion and giving the OP the info on the 107" kit. I do not think anyone was "overselling" anything here...last time I checked fuelmoto is booked solid for months and do not need any help drumming up buisnes and they did that all on thier reputation. I knwo you have spoken so now shut it cause no one wants to hear you.

U don't need to be so sensitive.... and I could give a rats *** how long they are booked out... does not mean squat to me... I was sayingthe man wanted a 103...nothing wrong with that.. all you people thinking fuel moto is the anwer...just gets old... I have a buddy who would put fuel moto work to shame...but I don't get on here and praise him either.. so chill out pal..I was not out to pick on your nerves...get out and ride, and have a great day...
FuelMoto is a really good company and Jamie gives to this forum as much as he gets. I have bought a lot from them and will continue to do so. That being said, as nice as the 107 looks I'm going 103 because you just never know when something could go wrong on a road trip and it's good to have Harley parts readily available. Now if I had an around town bike that I just ripped around on, oh yeah I would do the FM 107 in a heart beat. You can bet that Jamie's tune will be in my 103.
I am looking at upgradeing to a 103 with cams.
I know this is a hard one ,but what is a ballpark
price for this.
Shortleg[Dave]
Don't even waste your money. It's not worth the money for the extra 7ci.If it cost you roughly $2,500 that's half the price of the 120R & it's a bigger much better motor!!!!
FX4 like I said I am sure they am... just wondering why people hijack the threads....this was a 96 to 103....if it were 96 to 107... I can see that, but people love to hijack the threads... so this is my strong point... they can start and praise the attributes of the 107 upgrades and I will honor it...
