Default Volume with mp3

I notice I seem to lose quite a bit of volume when using my mp3 player on my 2010 street glide. Is there a setting on the radio i'm missing?

turn the volume all the way up on the mp3 player and then control thru the handlebar controls. Again, volume on mp3 player must be on the highest setting.

I had the same problem on both a 08 Ultra and an 11 Limited using the same Zumo 550, with ALL volume settings maxed out. Ended up putting in an inline amp. Problem solved!

I have an I-Pod. In additon to the normal volume control, there is another volume setting I can access through an options menu. Give yours a try.

Default Volume on MP3 Player

Not sure if MP3 Players work the same way, but, I used to have that problem with my iPod
Nano. A little trick I learned and it worked for me. The key is how "hot" you can download
the songs to your player (e.g. music source). iPod "normally" downloads songs to the player at a 128 kbps (it will downlaod much faster at 128 kpbs). I changed the settings on my iPod to download my music at a higher (e.g. hotter) rate of 320 kbps. What a huge
difference that made. Simply put: putting music onto your player in a "hotter" mode
(i.e. greater volume) will translate into higher volume coming out... This worked for me...

Bill

Ripping the mp3's differently might be the answer, and I do know that can affect volume, but I had the same problem with xm thru the Zumo. Could just be the zumo???? I would try ripping differently before doing anything more drastic.

Also, unless it is being charged while riding, as it's battery discharges, the volume is lower, even on the player's highest volume setting.

It's been my experience, and the experience of others on the forum, that nothing plugged into the aux-in jack will play as loud as the radio or a CD.
