I am new to the forum and was wondering what members opinions are on Vance and Hines Monster Rounds. How is the sound, any noticeable gain in performance? I just ordered a 2011 Street Glide 103 and would like to put them on it. Thanks for you input!
Nice finish, great look, a tick louder than stock.
Mine are bolted to power duals and the setup is very sweet, nice rumble, 1 bar higher on the stereo than with the stock set up, and will roar when you twist it. Performance is skewed, went from stock choked exhaust to free flowing with A/C , PCV, and exhaust , completely different bike, runs like a scalded dog.
Remember one call does it all. Fuelmoto.
Very happy with mine. I have them hooked up to the Power Duals. Like above.....nice rumble at idle, and they sound sweet when you get on them. With my stock 103 I'm getting 78hp and 93tq after a dyno.
I have a set with the powers duals. They are fine for for everyday riding but when I do a long trip with extended interstate miles at speeds in the 80 mph range they get real annoying. Keep it at 60-70 mph not near as bad. Might be different without a full face helmet I'm sure. What I do now is swap in a set of HD Screaming Eagles for long trips.

Half helmet and earplugs. Mostly use the earplugs for the wind.

I have been riding since the 70's, mostly metrics and always wore the full face. When I got my first HD I did the1/2 and even the 3/4 for awhile, I will have to say the sound of the exhaust note is no where as annoying as when wearing a full face. I just have to wear the full face, everyone has there own comfort level. And yes been wearing earplugs for years.
Have a set on 2011 Ultra with Power Duals. I got a really nice price from DK and I'm pleased. They aren't the "Loudest" but they are deep in tone and they seem to get deeper the warmer the pipes get in a long run. Glad I went this route. I also bought the Power Vision tuner from Fuel Moto and of course a stage I AC.
As for the power increase, it is noticable, but only because of the rest of the items that went along with the slip ons "imo". There is some, and I can keep up with any stock 110 off the line w/o question. Very Pleased!
I installed a set of MOs a couple of weeks ago on my 09 with download and SE AC.I love the look and they sound like a V8 at idle. When I took it for a ride around the block,I was surprised at how loud they were. But I'm kinda getting used to them now.I wear a 3/4 lid and at 50 mph on a secondary road there seems to be a little too much rumble.Out on the highway at 70 mph they sound great.I hope they aren't earitating on a long trip....lol.
