Default Fuses for tool kit

Just picked up my 2003 FLHTCUI. I ride in rural area a lot and want to have a good tool kit. So I asked my dealer to give me a good set of spare fuses. All he gave me was 2 15 amp fuses. I have seen posts about 40 amp maxifuse. What fuses do I need to prevent being stuck on side of road? I bought a service manual and haven't read much yet. I assume this info is in there, but thought there must be a bunch of old bikers that know this off the top of their head. Thanks.

Sounds like a plan. Are all the fuses in the fuse box? Are there remote locations with in line fuses, etc..? Guess I'll do that and check in the manual.

The ones in your fuse box should be the only ones unless you have add on stuff such as GPS (can't remember if that has a fuse or not) Gerbing's gear or something similar. I think mine only has 10 and 15 amp fuses but not sure and as I worked all night and drove a hundred miles each way, not gonna check. Easy enough. BTW, they should be under your left side cover.

Your bike doesn't have a Maxi fuse, it has a cicuit breaker. Unless it's been upgraded.

There are other fuses, depending on the bike but as for the Maxie fuse if that goes there really is a major problem and I would think that unless you are playing around with the juice then if it blows that is something that just a fuse will not fix. But for the rest of the fuses it is good to have a complete set of fuses.

I bought a fuse kit from auto zone took out what the bike needs put em in a an old pill bottle. Overkill but I probably have about 30 in that bottle. Better too many than not enough. Takes up very minimal space.

As stated above, see what values and type of fuses your bike has, carry at least 2 of each for a spare, if nothing else use a ziplock bag.

Also there might be some blank spots in the fuse box to keep some spares in.
