I have an ARC mini 125.2 on my limited......Powers the fronts and rears, WHEN, the tour pak is installed (which is twice a year)....I have the CVO speakers pods installed on the lowers and want to know if I can wire the speakers to the amp???.....this would mean twice a year 6 speakers would be driven off the amp....I know 4 is fine...... will 6 work??
I have pre-outs on my HK going to the amp, so I run my fairing and lower fairing speakers from the amp and I run the rear speakers from the amplified output from the HK (quite a bit less power, but I also have the Tour Pak off a lot, and I could never really hear the rears at highway speed anyway).
I wouldn't do it. When you run four, in parallel I'm assuming, on the ARC you are taking resistance down to 2 Ohms which the amp can handle but if you do 6 speakers you are taking the resistance down below 2 Ohms (1.333 Ohms).
im looking at putting in the ks125.2 in.for speakers are component speakers worth the money overcoaxial speakers.anybody know.im olny doing 2 faring speakers what is best?
If you're currently running two pairs of 2ohm impedance speakers wired in parallel to the 125.2, you're already risking possible damage to the amp. Check-out the water pump example in the above link.
