Default Fairing mirror visibility

Hi all

Was wondering if anyone has had poor visibility through thier SG fairing mirrors? On light throttle, mine are clear up too 2,000 rpms and them become real blurry to around 2,400 and then clear up again. Worse between 2,200/2,300 rpms.

Is this something I should see the dealer about or is it normal?

I wouldn't mind so much but its right at cruising speeds (rpm related in any gear).

Comments appreciated.

I have a 2010 SG and my mirrors are clear at all speeds. I have read about handle bar clamps not torqued causing this and also fairing brackets that crack and cause this. good luck let us know

There's certain speeds where mine get blurry also. Couple that with the PYO bars, there's not much mirror left. I'm sure adding the Heavy Hertz speakers hasn't helped any. I've been debating on getting mirrors for the bars but need to see some pics with bikes using mirrors first.

My handlebars vibrate at the same rpms.

I had the dealer check it out already and said they tightned up the clamp. It's better but not gone.

I hate that it's right at cruising speeds. If it's normal, I guess i'll live with it, but won't like it.

Anyone else have comments?

Hi Guys, I have a 2010 SG and haven't had any issues with mirrors not being clear and steady at crusing speed. I actually felt I had more of an issue with that on my low rider that was my previous ride. Hope you can figure it out. It would be irritating.

I can't imagine cruising at that low of an rpm thru out the gear range??? I tend to run in the mid to upper 2K range, more on the pipe in case I need to get on it and get out of a "situtation". Maybe the 103's are different????

I'm jut putting around on flat roads at around 50ish in 5th gear. If I need fast acceleration I usually downshift. (note, The issue happends in all gears at the same rpms).

To answer your question however, the 103 to me is substatially stronger in low end torque compared to the 96. I had a 07 Road King Classic before the Street Glide. It's like night and day (except for this issue).

I called the dealer and have an appointment for the 10th.

I hate this back and forth sh%@. I'll post findings then.

If anyone else has comments, please keep them coming and thanks.

My 2007SG mirrors have been blurry since day one. I've had the Dealer torque them to specs. Replace broken Fairing brackets and they still are blurry. Not all the time, once the RPM's get up there, then they are "Better". I've been thinking about replacing them with handlbar Mirrors. My 1996 Roadking didn't have any issue with the Mirrors.
