We are all riding 750-850 lb bikes, good sturdy boots should only be the starting point on a list of what to wear. Glad you are OK.

Junk in the road can be a real hazzard. I've had the same thing happen a few times. Lightly breaking in a curve and run over something like a sheet of plastic or a speed-limit sigh that is lying in the road. soon as the tire hits the object, the tire locks up and the piece of trash acts like a ski. Makes for a hairy ride!

Agreed. I took a rider's tune up course a few years ago that was presented by the local Highway Patrol and City Police. They preached over and over (harped really) that we should never take the feet off the floorboards while the bike is moving at any speed. I'm pretty good about that, so I was surprised I dragged my foot. Then my buddy pointed out that it was knocked off the floorboard when it hit the ground. I am convinced by the amount of leather missing from the boot that my foot would have been mangled if I had been wearing anything less. I don't think I was going more than 3 mph.

I am finding three left turns to go right isn't all that bad. (LOL)
