Put the money toward a power commander since you will eventually go that way in the future. I have/had both, fyi.

I started a thread on this a week or so ago. Just put them on my 2010 StreetGlide. Jury still out for me. So far I have noticed very little in any changes. Did seem to lower the tone of the stock exhaust just a bit. Cant tell if the bike is running any cooler or not. Still have some pinging which I had hoped to eliminate. I am sure the device has changed the AFR from factory "lean" to something a bit richer....which is a good thing.....havent calculated MPG with them. So......not really sure if I wasted another $100 or not

They work up to about 50%, in the closed-loop area only.

To the OP: They won't affect performance anywhere but may serve to cool the engine by adding fuel in the cruise range, but setting too low (below around 14.2, the functional limit of the NB O2 sensors) can cause the ECM to throw codes. IED's work okay to cool the engine a bit at cruise and have some use if that's all you want to do and don't plan on doing anything more than changing the exhaust system. They will also likely decrease gas mileage. Upgrading the AC may put AFR's too lean outside its range of operation and could actually decrease performance.

They work great with the setup I'm running.

They do affect the performance, I noticed a big difference right away. Much quicker, and better response, same thing as a power commander only cheaper and less things to go wrong.

[QUOTE=iclick;8284802] but setting too low (below around 14.2, the functional limit of the NB O2 sensors) can cause the ECM to throw codes.

I copied this from nightriders site my bike is a 2009. Are you saying that if I install this and it lowers the af ratio to 13.8:1 Iam gonna have problems throwing codes? Is there a fix for this or is it not advisable to get one cause it may damage the ecm?

The FL-XiED(tm) is specifically for the 2009 H-D Touring Bikes.
Nightrider's unique "US Patent 7805236" design approximates a richer fuel mixtures to quickly and simply improve the closed loop fuel mixture on your TC96/103/110 engine from 14.6:1 to 13.8:1. This results in cooler exhaust temperatures. Recommended for stock bikes and those with upgraded exhaust/air cleaner

I've run Xied's on the last two touring bikes I've owned. I'm running them on my wife's 2010 SG Trike with the 103 engine and the 2010 RK you see in my Sig. Pic. Both bikes are stock except for stage 1 a/f and exhaust. My wife has over 15K on her's and I am just over 14K. They have never thrown a code, both bikes run cooler. The last time I checked we are getting close to 45 mpg on gas. If you were to sit at idle, the 13.8 might be too rich. But at cruising rpm's up to 3750, I think it's a perfect setup. The open loop has richer fuel values. IMO, it's the best bang for the buck if all you want is for your stock bike to run cooler, or you add Stage1.

The XiEDs will not damage your ECM and the codes they throw if any are fake, sometimes the codes will show up, usually not, but if they do just ignore them.
