So it's always the same 3 who jump on the guy who just wants his bike to be like theirs - perfect. We all spent the same amount on them. Why can't I have a completely quiet ride like yours? And if I want HD to make it like yours, why does that put such a bug up your a$$? When I went in to the dealer to buy this monster, they didn't tell me it was russian roulette. That I might get a perfect motorcycle or I might not. I went in expecting to get the perfect motorcycle and it's 99% right. One percent off.
I'm beginning to think modavater, bountyhunter, SMT,and hd2007 are the same HD employee. You can spew more hate than anyone else I've seen on the forum. Why? What does that get you?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Nope, I don't work for Harley Davidson...but if I did I would be damn proud of it. And if you're gonna talk smack about me Edelmon, copy me on it so I can see what BS you're spewing.
Sorry I didn't copy you. With all the hate'n that's going on I thought you were all ready on this thread. Just for the record, I would be proud to work for HD as well. I even checked their job postings, but the only thing I was qualified for would put me in Milwalkee.
Now could you answer my questions?
I just did a search for brake squeal and came across this thread. I have a rear brake squeal on my 2007 SG that has been off and on since new, I thought it would go away with time but showed up again. I have almost 5000 miles and will be doing my on 5k service. I have been all over this site and seen all the postings about tranny noise and all. I posted about the noise myself a couple of times. I can say I do have a little whine in 5th and if I don't keep the rpms I can get the rocks in the can noise, especially if I lean down and "listen" for it. My best times are when I just ride it and I tell you it is a great ride and I love it. Everything I hoped for. I had been on my Sporty for the last 10 years or so and I have rode several different bikes over the years. I had a Honda 550 supersport that run like a scalded dog. I have a few issues that I will have looked at this week (Fuel Guage Malfuntion, Rear Brake Squeal and I felt alittle to much road through the front shocks on a 400 mile trip Sunday) but overall I love this bike. Still Stock at the moment and still loving it
I was at a dealership yesterday. The salesman was looking to buy himself a '07 rk custom that had just made its way to the floor. I own a '05 rk custom and love my bike, so I chatted it up with him. He didn't know any of the stuff about the '07's thatI have read here. Nothing. I was shocked. I told him everything thatI have read here, from the heat issue to the front break squeal, and how to correct it. This guy was completely clueless. At the end of our talk, I wrote down the web address for this site, and told him to check it out. Finished up by saying "Do you want me to go get the paperwork for you, so we can get you out riding this bad boy today?" I then turned to the wife and said, "ya know, I should be working here". Maybe I just might do that. Any idea if these guys get a discount on parts?
BTW, I am taking my bike in tomorrow to have the rotors swapped. My brakes don't squeal anymore since they filled the wheel with some type of foam. But, I figure it is best to just have ot done now while the bike is still under warranty. The service writer told me that they wont do "service bulletins" if the bike is out of warranty. Is that true? Seems to me they should still be liable regardless of the warranty status.
All these guys are interested in is selling bikes, and they will say anything to do so. If the guy had pride in his work and was interested in his customers major investment, he would have done his home work and would havealready known these issues. I mean how could he not have known, these 07 nightmares are known all over the web and there is NOT just a few who are complaing. Every where I go people are complaining about them, e.g. over heating, vibration, engine clatter, engine surge, tranny noise, no neutral, break noise and the list is growing. As forthe shops, they're doing damage control for HD, all you'll hear is, that's normal - I don't hear anything - they all do it - your lugging the engine - Your the first one who has this problem - that's not warranty item, and on and on the merry-go-round goes with these guys. Took my Ultr Clatter to the dealer again for these issues, and what does the mechaic do when he test rides it, puts on a full helmet with shield down, really gonna hear noise that way aren't we? Take some money saving advise, stay away from these 07's, at least until HD gets out of denial and does their customers right. I bet the 08's won't be a problem, you can betHD hasalreadyclippedthese issues in the bud. Theydon't needanotheryear of negative publicity.
