Need to get some waterproof dry bags for my upcoming road trip. Looking to keep my large sleeping bag and other things dry. Bags will go on the luggage rack. There's dozens of different models out there, different sizes/thicknesses, and am interested in what others are using.
Looking for something better than a garbage bag, but not so expensive as a large TBag. I'm leaning towards the Sea-to-Summit eVac bags, but open to other brands if you've good experience with them. Just don't want to ride in rain for hours, only to find the bag and other things soaked when arriving at the campsite. Prefer something that will last through daily stuffing and usage for 3 weeks.
Checkout aerostich.com they have a few different bags, PVC wide mouth, and a lighter packable one around 15.00 I think. The wide mouth has had up good for me over the years.
Know ya didnt want these but those heavy weight trash bags are the trick for my. Store pretty small, cheap, and get a hole, not big deal. Sell them all over the place.
Check out some of the canoe trip outfitters.
They have 'dry bags' in many sizes.
Haven't ever used them on a bike trip, but they sure keep your stuff dry on a canoe trip...and they float!! Don't ask! LOL!!
Zip-loc extra large storage bags and contractor grade lawn and leaf bags.
I've tried a bunch of stuff because I have a boat and keep everything in water tight bags.
But on the bike, the plastic bags are the trick. Light, small and packable for when you don't need them, you can cut and shape them to fit anything, and you can buy them anywhere for a couple of bucks.
