Has anyone noticed that they are skinnier than the 402?

I only have about 5500 on mine so it may be a little early to accurately judge the mileage for me but they still look new!

The ride and handling alone would have me buying another set even if they are worn out at 7000 miles!

i had 19000 on my set when i traded in the road king for the road glide. still had quite a bit of tread left on the rear as gauged by the wear bars. the handling was awesome on them.

I have almost 13k on mine and they are still handling and wearing very well. I will definitely be replacing these with more E3's when the time comes.

Timely post, as I will be replacing my 402's with the E3's when I return from Arizona vacation in two weeks. Currently 10,000 on 402's with 4/32" tread in front, 5/32" rear. This pair of 402's, the front had less tread than the rear when new. Going to 90 degree KurveyGirl valve stems as well.

Per Dunlop, the D402 MU85b-16 is 5.51 inches wide, the E3 MU90B-16 is 5.57 inches wide.

If you can run the 160/80b-16 E3, it's 6.10 wide.

On my '05 FLTR, I got about 8k on the OEM D-402, and similar amount using Metzlers. I've gotten 12-14k on the past 3 Elite-3 rea tires. so I'm quite happy.

Weather and road conditions will play havoc with tire wear, as will riding style. I'm heavy on gearin' & steering... lots of engine braking, and NC, is a hot place in the summer, and our roads are rough as coarse sandpaper.

As with any tire...keep an eye on air pressure, and they'll last longer

I just put on my second set of E3s (different bikes). My front tire wasn't that badly worn, but I changed both tires because I hated the 402s. I really like the E3s.

I'm at 17,000 and the handling is great. Time for a new rear, but the front is like new.

The specs on the MU90 b 16 say 5.57 but my unmounted tire is five inches. They probably take into account for heat expansion because i cannot see it grow a little over 1/2 inch just by putting it on the rim. Then again 800 pounds of weight? I'm at 14 k on the stock 402.
