[quote=HDRider2002;8301638]Having my MT90-16 mounted today, am anxious to see how much better the wet handling is. Was tempted to go with the MU90-16, but given the 130mm was stock on my bike, i was nervous of rubbing.
Actually depending on width of Belt you should be able to run a 140 no problems and a 150 if it has the narrow belt.. my 07 FLHTC i was able to fit a 160 on it but i did have to remove belt gaurd and cut part of it so tire didnt rub. but i'd say go with the MU90-16 it should fit without problems..can also call dealer and see what the biggest you can fit they should know by your bike what fits
Replaced the original Rear 402 at 9,100 miles with 1/32" remaining. Presently have just slightly more than 4/32" remaining on E3 at 16,600 miles. So at the present rate of wear I figure I'll get about 12,500 out of the E3. That's about a 40% improvement in tire wear.
I started with the D402s, went to Metzler, Avon, and E-3s. I am now going back to the D402. To be honest, my impression is that ANY tire that is NEW will ride and corner better than the one that was on it before. Speaking only for myself I have never put on a new tire (any brand) and then thought to myself that the tire I just took off was better.
One thing I have learned about tires is that it seems like they can wear almost over night. By that I mean it seems like one day you are riding and everything is fine, and the very NEXT day the bike needs tires. And appearance can be misleading. I have looked at my tires and thought they had a good amount of tread, only to learn that they were due for replacement.
i have about 5 k miles on my rear elite 3 tire, and i'm very happy with the performance, price, and wear. the handling improved a lot with the elite 3 too. when i find something that works, i tend to stick with it, so the next time around it's going to be the e 3's. now if they made them to fit my triumph rocket III, i'd be set.
