I am close to needing another set of tires and with the cost of new chrome wheels, I have wondered about taking my stockers to the powder coater. She is an 09 black Ultra and I was thinking about shooting the wheels black and maybe then painting the rim side red or maybe even a Harley orange. And then of course I got to thinking about following the stock grey striping with the same color somehow, either on each side or the existing or maybe just one.............any comments?

What is wrong with the stock color of the wheels? Just ask'n.

Is this the look you are going for? You could add a little red accent to your bike like a dash insert or red trimed guage rings for example to tie it in. Not sure how the stock wheel would look black, never seen it. But an interesting idea.

have you considered how much the marks from changing tires would stand out on painted rims of your wheels? this would be my major concern with painting or powdercoating them.

I also wondered about what would happen to the powdercoat later down the line changing tires but have been told there shouldn't be a problem, probably need to talk to a tire shop about that, and I had also thought about after the PC, paint the rim lip for a little accent.
Still a ways away on any decisions, just wanted to hear some other thoughts
Thanks

Be a ton better for cleaning. Those stock wheels are crappy to try to make look good. Think your wheels would look great.
