Hi. I've been hearing and reading quite a lot lately about problems with fairing support brackets breaking. Some threads seem to indicate that this was an issue pre-2009. I have a 2010 UC. Do the newer model-year bikes have improved brackets that make breaking less likely than older ones?

don't think so. had my fairing off a couple weeks ago and both top brackets broken close to where they attatch .i think they were $11.00 each. bike has about 12000 mi.
Thanks everyone for your replies. Seems the problem may have been fixed in late MY 2009 production. All those in the other threads that I read that had brackets break were on 2009 and earlier rides. I'm wondering if anyone with 2010 or 2011 bikes has had them break. Seems a simple enough fix but one that shouldn`t be required at all.
2007 Model. I replaced the right side bracket about a month ago, with the newer model. All of the others were ok at that time. I noticed the fairing bouncing front to back at idle and on the highway so I checked last night. Three of the four (all except the new one) are broken. I plan on buying the new model for the left side, and fabbing up my own solution for the two middle verticle brackets. Ain't this some BS!!! You would think on a $20+K bike, that they KNOW shakes (engine?) would be designed a lilttle (or a LOT) sturdier. Plus, down here, the wind blows 25-35 mph much of the time. Running into that headwind while doing 70+ mph is a considerable force on the extremely NON-aerodynamic fairing. One would assume MOCO knows about that as well ...
Oh, well, hopefully the "new" side brackets and my fabbed center ones will stand up.
