I learned a lot with my first Harley. If I were to do it again, I would probably skip the cams and just do intake, exhaust (stock head pipes with slip-ons), and a tuner. Those are kind of essential on newer bikes to get them running richer and cooler than stock. That alone will wake up the bike quite a bit. That said, I love how my ride pulls when I roll on!

I used to spend money on performance parts, but I don't ride a bike like I did forty years ago.
I'm an old fart now and I just run them until something breaks. Then I may do an upgrade or two.

I have a 103" build in a 2000 Road King and it is so much more satisfying to twist the wrist than my almost stock 96" softail. Don't have the heat to deal with and she rolls when I want her to. Not to mention that it sounds like a Harley should since it has a 45mm mikuni on it. Hard to explain how much I love that bike.

My 07 is stock. Only because it has more power than brakes. Hoping to up grade to ABS later this year, then look out.

I started out on an 07 Superglide 96 6 speed and was satisfied with stage 1. It has anything I could possibly use. Then I bought an 06 Street Glide 88 5 speed stage 1 and man it is like night and day. Around town it is alright but we just rode from Dallas to Red River, NM on the Street Glide and loaded down with wife and gear I was having trouble keeping up with a guy on a Vulcan 900, although he was probably full throttle and I wasn't. I wouldn't abuse mine like that. I could see a stock 96 being enough for most because I have one but the 88 is definitely lacking especially on a touring bike. Nothing on the top end. So with that said I'm probably looking at doing 26 or 37 Andrews cams or just a 95 or 96 kit to start. Probably the 96 cause I can do that for about 500 exchange on the parts. Doing the cams would be a little higher due to all the parts I would have to buy. Might as well upgrade the cam plate while doing the cam.

Bingo. I ride an 06 FLHXI as well, RacerX. And that was my experience. Problem solved.

The 120R tears your face off! What hills? Pass anything - fully loaded. It's not a 131 but it really kicked butt. The SuperTrapp is remarkably quiet.

And now I have a job where I can ride to work almost every day... That is awesome, and would be cool on a stocker as well.

I had slipons, a K&N filter, and tuner box but that just didn't hold up with guys on 110s! Waiting for my 98ci Hillside package now and am confident that will get me where I need to be.
