I have a 2010 Limited with 5,000 miles on it. The trans has leaked...fixed that. Temp. guage quit...f*#k that one. Chrome piece fell off...glad it was small one...CD player skips...must use Ipod...left rear shock leaks oil all over muffler and wooden floor...cleaned it up so far....headpipe from FuelMoto won't fit....don't know what the hell that is...should have gutted OE pipe....hate the loud noise during start up...dealer says normal will not replace with SE compensator...I think it's time to think of something else to buy. I know use your warranty...alot of money for sheeeet to keep happening. Jr. sorry...just got to vent today!
I share your grief Smithr, I had a damn good 08 Ultra and fell for the hype on the 09's, how much greater they were compared to the old pre 09's. So I got an 09 Ultra...had a primary seal go out, starter gear busted, leaked from tranny, made a screeching noise on startup till I was ashamed to try to start it around others (ie, rice burners), took it to three dealers before one (Seminole Harley Sanford FLa) found that the guide pins in the starter were gone and causing all the grief there., the stock compensator went south and I replaced it with an SE comp out of my pocket, dealer said it was normal. Yeah right..no problem there since! Last but not least the left front shock started leaking. I finally got rid of it and went back to a 2008 Ultra and so far I'm a happy man....zero problems and it handles as good or better than the 09. Go figure....
I have a 2011 RKC and I had a trans leak for about 1200 miles before they got it fixed. I felt the same way until they fixed it. I had an attitude toward the dealer and wondered if they knew what they were doing. The bike only has 2400 miles on it and a new trans case. Yep all the guts taken out and put in another case. Whats my chances of it staying together? I don't know but that is why I ride it every night when I get home from work. If it comes apart they will have to fix it. I would'nt trade it for nothing else but another new one.
My time with Harley's go back to the Iron Head days. I've never had a bike that needed more than routine maintenance. I guess I better go knock on wood...
