...my battery is original..05...still cranks strong!..I doubt your battery is done yet...I think it's related to the compression...lower compression at certain temp...vs higher compression at different temp...
I would try the easy and free things first; Check the battery connections; Next I think a battery place will load test it for free or if you have a meter connect it and start the bike - the minimum volts should be 9.6 under load.
07 is a heat demon. you need a battery with a high charge state to turn over a hot bike. google battery voltage state of charge and you will find charts that indicate charge state based on voltage at rest. I doubt that a 5 year old battery has a 100% charge state. probally looking at 70%.
Hot starters have a higher electrical resistance and thus draw more current. Worn hot starters will drag when hot, but not when cold.
Odds are good that it's either the battery's age, or the starter's condition that will cause a starter to be slow when hot. Testing the batteries reserve power (voltage) under starting conditions can answer this ... cold or hot. Test both ways.
MJHARLEY,
I suggest starting your own thread to deal with your issue. It is a completely different situation than the O/Ps thread question.
Besides yours is under warantee, and of course taking it to the dealer is the right thing to do.
