Here's a pic of my 05. I don't have a pic of the 10, but it looks the same.
I have been searching endlessly for mounting brackets to move my tour pack to the solo position for the 2005 Ultra classic. Ive seen a few people who have done it but all post are older.. Help Plz; here is the full story.
I currently have a quick detach in the two up position and I had purchased some brackets that didn't end up working out, one reason was because I didn't noticed in the description it said except FLTCHU. The other reason is because the locking part of the bracket on the rear of the quick attach is mounted on the inside of the quick attach frame so its too tight of a squeeze. I have found and confirmed with harley that part # 53260-02a is there solo kit for my bike but there is no docking hardware. Ideally I would like to use the same quick attach bracket to mount in either position so if I need to carry a passenger I can. I could move the locking mechanism to the outside of the bracket on the 1 I have and just add a spacer in the mounting hardware to accommodate the width needed on the 2 up or it is possible to manipulate the bracket in place with them on the inside but its not easy. Can anyone help please. This is the 2 up quick attach installed. I have this very long corbin seat that fits me perfect, my wife got a bike so im solo most of the time. I want to keep the pack for speakers and a backrest, plus if she ever does ride on the back she needs it. This is what I have to work with, the chrome cover comes off the frame obviously. I tried to fit the bracket over it and it was such a tight squeeze I had to remove the chrome. Also the bolt next to the aftermarket shock doesn't allow the front of the bracket to fit properly
Below are photos when I ride solo with a tour pack. I use a police solo seat on my bike. I used the solo docking bracket and then raised the tour pack using spacers for a better fit. For me raising the tour pack was very comfortable on long trips. A friend of mine made an adapter plate in order to move the TP more forward.
