Paint question
I have a black 2001 Electra Glide and put a big dent in the front fender. Applied bondo and primer to my satisfaction. Wound up sanding the entire fender and bought a rattle can of HD Vivid Black Acrylic Lacquer sold at the dealer.
Can apply the black lacquer and follow up with a two part clear coat with hardner or will destroy the lacquer?
Thanks. I know there is a 'paint' thread but this one gets more activity.

Clearing should be done with a lacquer clear.
Urethane clear will go over the lacquer but we know two things about putting urethane clear over lacquer:
1) Its going to come off.
2) We just can't say when, could be first day in sun or 10 years from now or anytime in between but it is going to peel.

Thanks. I should have said "Can I apply the black lacquer and follow up with a two part clear coat with hardner or will it destroy the lacquer?"
I understand I can apply lacquer clearcoat but I wonder if the hardening agent will cause problems.
