I'm thinking of possibly installing the reduced effort clutch kit on my '05 RK. My question is do you have to install the new clutch spring also or can you just leave the stock one in. Is the kit spring a stiffer spring, will that make the pull stiffer again?
if you buy the H-D kit part# 36808-05 it will come with a new ball and ramp assembly and a new spring.
Your current stock spring is 135KgF Part# 37871-04 and should have a yellow dot.
The spring in the kit is a 117KgF Part# 37882-06 spring and should have a blue dot.
The ball and ramp assembly will certainly help but the full impact of the kit will be with installing the spring.
If your bike has modifications to HP and Torque...I would suggest leaving your stock spring in, as noted in the H-D catalog. Your stock spring is currently used on trikes and non-police 103's.
