Default Power Commander V not recognized??

I just bought a PCV for an 09 Streetglide and am trying to see the maps and load a new 1 if needed. I downloaded the software and installed it on Window 7. I tried to just attach the USB cable to it while not installed on the bike and software says no device found. Thinking maybe it needed to be on the bike I hooked it up and tried again...same result. Also tried turning Run to Off, turning on ignition...same result. Then tried to connect with the bike running...same result. The power light is On so it has connection to the computer but the software doesn't see the device. Being a computer programmer I suspect Window 7 is the culpret. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks

I have Windows 7 on my netbook, and have not had any connectivity issues with my PC-V. Plug it in and there it is.

try a different cable..maybe the one you have is bad...also make sure the usb ports on the computer are turned on...other than that it sound like there is something wrong with the plug on the PCV

Does it use a drive letter to access the PCV like with a memory stick? I'm not sure. Maybe it's trying assign a drive letter that's already being used. I'm using Windows 7 without issue.

I know how your computer feels, I refuse to recognize the PCV too.

did you download the software from the disc that came with it? it might be bad, there was some info saying on there web page that said it could be bad, you have to open the power command grid before you hook it up so it can upload. sounds to me like the software is not all there

I was a bad cable. Now I just need to figure out the correct map so it stops dying after it warms up.
