I too have been on the fence. How does the Stage 1 affect the fuel economy?
Stage 1, Samson 2-1 pipe, Powervision tuner from Fuelmoto all improved my fuel mileage.
Then I added SE204 cams and now I can't stay out of the throttle so my mileage has dropped about 5 mpg.
Guys, You no longer need to remove that bracket with the new stage one filter kit from fuel moto. Just installed one for one of my riding buds. Real easy! As for fuel economy.... well do you want, performance or are you willing to give up a coouple of MPG??? I'll take the additional performance! With the performance, you will find youself in the throttle more, and that alone will lead to decreased fuel economy, but a LOT of fun!!
Running the FM Stage 1 with 2-1-2 head pipe, high flow a/c and Powervision with FM map. I can't tell the fuel economy has changed that much. Still getting about 45 mpg on two lane state highways ~60mph and loose a little on interstate and in town. Riding buddies seem to be in disbelief when we ride about 150 miles and I tell them I'm still good for another 100 before needing fuel. It does run better than stock but the most dramatic difference seemed to be when I paired the FM Pro Touring 4.5 inch muffler with their map the low end torque seemed to increase in the 2000-3000 rpm range.
Well- I've been reading about the stage 1, contemplating, procrastinating, saving, and this week I've finally completed the stage one from Fuel Moto- The Fuel Moto dyno tuned slip ons sound Great! The tune map provided with the Power Commander V-again- spot-on. And Today the installation of the Screamin Eagle Air cleaner kit. All I can say is- I'm very pleased- Don't know what its going to do the the mileage I was getting- but WOW- lots of power- quick response- NO Pinging. Any of you 2010-2011 FLHTK 103" owners out there who are sitting on the fence-- DO IT! It really woke this 103" motor up.
Thanks to Jamie & Keith at Fuel MOto for putting up with this ol guy and supplying me with an ear-to-ear grin, and with great service. I know that if something comes up- a phone call back to Fuel Moto will get me where I need to be.
Kudos to Fuel Moto..
