I can, but don't bother. First, it will be under warranty as it has been a problem all the time. Second, the new one will eventually do it also. I switched mine under warranty and then the new one did it also so I put the chrome cover on it and never looked back.

HD would not cover mine. It will be the last extended warranty that I ever buy from them. Totally pissed me off.
Or have you read what is and isn't covered?

Same thing happened to mine. I put the chrome one on, problem solved and looks better. I think HD does these things on purpose to sell more chrome.

for about the same price as the harley chrome cover, covington's has them in either chrome or black, made out of billet aluminum. far nicer than the sheet metal cover harley makes. it sucks that since they went to the new/upgraded brake fluid and the newer brembo brakes and different master cylinder, we've all had this problem of the black bubbling. looks like someone smeared the joint with paint stripper.
