You guys might think I'm kidding, but my wife actually uses this stuff on furniture at home. I thought she was nuts, to try a bike polish on furniture, but it seemed to work.
I had a buddy ride in from Austin last weekend and he rode through the rain for a couple hours on the hiway and his bike was a mess. I threw him my pldege the next morning before we headed out for a PGR ride so he could clean it up a little. He had never used it and was was impressed. The crazy part - it worked on his Victory jsut as well as the Harley...who would have thought?
I have to say that after reading this thread, and the others there were links to, I am sold. I'll be picking up a can tomorrow to use on the bike. I think I'll go with the orange since I like the smell of orange over lemon.
I will add that I learned a little trick on my ride to the Black Hills a couple of years ago. I always carry a small bag of baby wipes on the bike. They come in very handy for a few reasons: clean your hands, face or rear should you need to have an emergency stop on the side of the road (which I never have ... knock on wood). On that trip, I broke out the baby wipes to try to clean bugs off the bike. Turns out, they work great to get bugs off. A simple swipe with the wipe and they come right off. Even dried bugs come right off; even the ones that need a little extra elbow grease come off easily and the good wipes that have more of a soft fabric feel are great for harder scrubbing without scratching the finish. I found that they leave a light haze on the bike that disappears after a slight rub with a microfiber towel. Works on body, windshield and chrome.
With my newly found pledge knowledge I think I'll use that instead of the baby wipes since it will work better to shine, protect, and repel the dust, but I will definitely keep the baby wipes on the bike for those other uses
