I like mine too. Wouldn't be without it now. Know anybody who has one? See if they'll take it out & let you go for a spin with it in the seat of YOUR bike. You won't have to go very far before you know. Mine's adjustable also. With an allen wrench, I can move it forward or backward ---- where ever it's comfortable for me.

I have the HD adjustable on my SG, I don't leave home without it. Great.... Especially on long hauls.

Get the adjustable. Lots of complaints about the fixed one.

At 5'11" I had the dealer put the non adjustable on my 11 SG when new.
It pushed me forward to much, I had to pull the seat and move the bracket all the way back. Now its good. As someone else said it does not leave any extra room for the wife, but when she rode with me she was bundled up.

I have had both the adjustable and the non-adjustable version. With a Sundowner seat, both have pushed me too far forward. I sold the adjustable as I felt like I was riding a sport bike with it. Recently bought the other version and after tweaking it a bit have it where I like it.

They must have changed the design on the newer ones I have a 2010 and the adjustable will allow me to lean well back - don't know how far as I've never had to put it all the way back. It certainly would be well behind the back of the stock rider's seat. I sit where I want and then pull the lever and the rest is locked there. I have disc problems and have to keep shifting position so when my back begins to stiffen up I sit up straight for a while and adjust the rest so I'm kept in that position. Just pull the lever, move back to where you want to be, and release it to stay there and give you the support you need.

I'm 6'2" and 240 lbs.

Like sitting in my favorite EZ chair.
When I kick out my highway platforms - like on a recliner!

I doubt that you will find many riders who will say don't get one. While I think it does spoil the looks of the bike somewhat, it was the best money I ever spent on an accessory. My back loves it. I don't have it on the bike for the short trips but If I'm going to be on the bike for more than an hour I put it on.
