A little disappointed in MCC
I have a 11 RK and the stock seat is just low enough to get by, but I ride solo only and I need a drivers back rest for long rides.
So I got the Mustang vintage solo, I had the same style Mustang seat on my last 3 Harley's. When I got the new seat for my new King it raised me up so much I couldn't even move my bike when standing. Not even close to flat footing, pushed my thigh's out and up to much.
I didn't want that big giant stock seat because I ride solo and Mustang has one of the best drivers back rest, so I decided to call MCC. My first call was with Steve, I ask if they could get my Mustang as low as my stock seat, he said that shouldn't be a problem.
At this point I reminded him that the new 11 Kings have a lower seat then previous years, He didn't know much about the 11 seat but he felt they could get it down just as low or even a bit more then my stock seat. I said great, I sent it to them with complete details as to what I was looking for.
When my day came to mod the seat they had it done first thing that morning and shipped it back fast, at this point I was impressed. I took it out and installed it and it was still higher then my stock seat and it still pushed my thigh's out to much.
I think Steve wasn't up to par on the fact that the 11 RK have a lower seat. So I decided to spend the extra $ for a 1"lowering kit. After about a week I called up MCC just to let them know it didn't work out, this time I got Robby, he was very nice as I was to him. He immediately said to send it back and they could fix it. I then said are you sure, because I don't want to keep paying shopping over and over for nothing, he then went to talk to someone and he came back on and said yes we can fix it, so I did, another $20. They did it again and it was fast and I had it back within a week.
Put it on the bike still the same.
Yesterday I called up and got Robby, he said he was sorry and then he put Steve on , Steve remembered my seat and said there is nothing they can do to fix it for me, it's as low as they can go.
Steve was very nice as I was to him. I told him my only problem with them is they said they could get my Mustang just as low as my stock seat and the fact that Robby convinced me to send it back a second time, and that was a complete waist of time and I lost another $20. Steve said he was very sorry and they just cant get it any lower, and that was the end of it.
So, any one that would like a Mustang wide vintage as low as a stock 11 RK seat, it cant be done.
I feel some of this is my fault because the first time I called, Steve didn't seem to know much about the 11 RK having a lower seat, that should have sent red flags to me right then.
So now I'm in the market for a 1" lowering kit.
BTW, I just got my 1000 mile service done and other then my seat problems, I love my new RK.
