....so I'm takin' the left bag off. I take the fasteners off and put them in my pocket but for some reason forgot to hold on to the bag..CRUNCH..on the pavement. What a dumbass move! Deep nicks on lid and a couple on the bottom. Took the bag immediately to my bud at the body shop he says maybe $550 to paint the bag. Go to the Harley dealer they come out with some stuff and try to work their magic....little better but no go. Soooo I'm gonna buy me a new lid pre-painted for about $215 and live with the rest. Should be able to make me a real pretty coaster or somethin'....

Then later was loading some stuff for my trip this weekend in my tourpak in the dark, with a flashlight and dropped it, put a mark on the right bag, but luckily it came out with some quick detailer.....I know I know but I ain't usually this big a bonehead....man what a day....I hope the trip goes better.

You could always stick a set of those silly "Bras" on the lids! HA.

Sorry to hear about the mishap.

Hope your trip goes well.
Enjoy

Sorry to hear about that. For me, I stopped worrying about the little scratches, scuffs and so on. If I didn't I would just drive myself crazy.

I dropped a wrench on the top of left bag and left 2 small chips on the lid. Bought the Mustang lid covers and never gave it a second thought. It adds a bit of contrast to the Sunglow Red.

I picked up my briefcase and the handle came off. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom."

These silly lid bra's have prevented numerous "shoe dragger" scratches on my bike. Wait until a passenger scrapes across yours & you'll definitely be looking for a set.

For OP - sux to drop a hardbag...definitely sinking feeling, but it's fixable. Maybe time to look into stretched bags for a different look (opportunity)?

I was thinking that if my lids ever got messed up I would have them coated with LINE-X.
