Default ABS Plastic Bags vs Fiberglass Bags

I am looking to put EXTENDED BAGS on my 2006 Road Glide and noticed there are AFTER MARKET ABS Plastic bags available. They say the fitment is better than fiberglass. Does anyone have any thoughts on which is better, fiberglass or ABS plastic? ABS is a bit cheaper.

The stock bags are ABS and are much stronger than fiberglass. Harley also makes a dummy extension for the oem bags to give it the extended look.

ABS is lighter but fiberglas is easier to fix in case of any cracks.

There are a lot of good fiberglass bags available- do not be misled by those that say they wish they had used ABS. There are several junk ABS bags on the market in the same way that there are junk fiberglass bags available. A quality stretched saddlebag will be of great service to you regardless of its composition. You should purchase your new parts based upon the surface quality and the build quality of the parts.

Harley-Davidson uses ABS because it's a quicker material for mass production, not necessarily because it's a stronger material.

The only advantage of ABS bags I see is if you stuff them full you can close the lid, and they will stretch a bit, and not crack, that being said , I have a bunch of miles on mine , and don't have cracks in them, and they are glass.

The main advantage of ABS is there is no body filler to vibrate and crack
