Must have been built on Monday or Friday. My 08 was built on a Wednesday, and I have never had any problem other than replacing a headlight 3 years later. I believe there's truth in this statement.

SlikPMC: Noticed you're also in the DC area...for future reference what's the HD shop with the reputable tech you go to?

I have an '09 and the only issue I've had so far has been with the TPS, which was handled under warranty appropriately by Annapolis HD.

ALOT of dealer prey on folks because they make money on warranty work......

I ride with MANY different folks that have these machines (H.D.) and you have had more problems than all 12 or so bikes rolled into one.....not saying you dont have a lemon but man I would be trading or finding a shop you can trust because I wouldnt trust the one you have......just my .02

Just because someone has been "trained" doesnt mean they have a clue.....there is ONE tech at my local dealer that has a clue and it aint much of one......the rest are just kids coming to work.........
I have to disagree with you on the dealers making money on warranty work...They do get paid by Harley for warranty services...But they do not make money from warranty work.

Try Tim Kirsch at Ft Washington HD, Smitty, the shop manager knows his stuff and is not just some paper jocky and Harley davidson bouncer for the shop, as I have run into many many times. (I'm not trying to infer anything about Patriot Harley Davidson's service manager... ) love that dealership though. Peggy is just awesome, all alround, and takes care of you. She'll make sure everything is done right on check in.

Tell him SLiK from PMC sent you over, they will take care of you regardless I'm sure. Have gotten me through MANY problems so far... even worked with HD complaint department when my belt and pulley went out and the warranty denied me coverage.

gunner 11... I have it unofficially from a tech, that mine was likely built on a holiday weekend... by gremlins... and may have suffered a alien abduction at some point in time in it's life. Maybe that explains the stick up my bike's @## causing it to die all the time.

Geezer, to the best of my knowledge, you are correct. They are paid a cut rate from HD for labor, and if they can make any money it is if you are able to and decide to, with in the constraints of the warranty, upgrade a defective part. The primary reason I have left it essentially bone stock is because of the amount of issues I have had with this machine. Why put money into it when it just sits around the house waiting to be driven or trailered to the dealership... HD is making enough off of me in interest, and payments for this Ultra Credit Geezer Glide with optional paperweight cruising option. Biggest friggin conversation peice I have ever owned... from here, I will get my service paperwork together, and go talk to Harley. I will say this, the last time I called to complain about the drive belt and sprocket wearing into nearly nothing in less than 40K miles, they were skeptical, but worked things out fast with Ft. Washington HD. Ft Washington verified that I didn't do anything stupid or abusive... then called me and said HD was taking care of everything. (I think it is times like that I secretly love Peggy, but don't tell her that.)

(um, Smitty... if you read this... did I plug the dealership enough???)
