My curiosity got the best of me and I bought a set of these. This might mean that the wife leaves me too much money, but here we go...............
The quality control and engineering are somewhat lacking.
The right side pipe has two small dimples and it has a wavy look. Otherwise, they look pretty good for $200.00 slipons
The exhaust clamps are very difficult to get on. These pipes have a thicker wall. You must put the clamps onto the slipon before you slide them onto the headpipe. They won't go on if you leave the clamp on the headpipe, then slide the muffler on and expect to slide the clamp over. If you slip the edge of the u shaped metal piece of the clamp into the slot of the muffler, they go on fairly easy. It took me a while to figure this out.
The two bolts on the back of the slipons are different. They have bolts with an oblong plate attached to it which slip into a slot on the muffler. You then fit the bolts up through the bracket and put the two nuts on from the top.
The problem is the bolts are too long. They will hit the bottom of the hard bags. I had to get out the die grinder and cut off a half inch of each bolt.
One of these bolts had a spot of weld on it when it was chromed. I had to grind off the weld and get out the tap/die set to recut the threads.
They are a bit louder than the video the company website indicates.
For $200.00 slipons, I got what I paid for. Don't expect Rhienhart quality.
Sorry, haven't taken any pics. I bought them from americanclassicmotors on ebay. They were by far the best price I could find anywhere. $199.95 and free shipping.
These are a product of V Twin manufacturing, but the packaging says they are imported.
I suspect they are made in China, and I would expect Rinehart to take some action for copyright infringement.
The V Twin website gives a retail of somewhere around $250.00 plus shipping. I don't remember their exact price.
