I just had an 02 ultra classic converted to a trike. The guy who did it advised that I would now need turn downs to avoid the current pipes screwing up the paint job of the trike kit. (hell of a post script) I've heard and found some slip-ons, but don't understand how they're installed. can anyone help?
If your asking how to replace a muffler,I would suggest you take your slipons back to the people who did your conversion or at least to someone who is more mechanically adept then you seem to be.
Slip-ons are easy. At the rear-opening end of the muffler should be 2 bolts or nut and bolt holding the muffler/slip-on to the bike.
Next there should be a band clamp just beyond the point where the muffle necks down to the pipe.
Loosen the band clamp.
remove the 2 per side bolts or nuts and bolts.
Now slip the muffler off the pipe, sometimes this take a little effort and be careful not to pull side to side or up and down too much as it could lead to cracking of the headpipes.
Slip the new ones on and install and tighten the stuff you made loose.
Oh Wow,I'm sorry.Welcome to the forums new member.Try posting in the Tri Glide section for answers to your new 3 wheel conversion.Thats where you will get alot of info on your trike.
